It’s not every day you get the chance to follow in the footsteps of someone as famous as Ernest Shackleton, but in Dec 2011 I got a last-minute chance to join an international team of 9, skiing across South Georgia (the sub-Antarctic island, not a state of the US or somewhere near Russia!).
I’d hoped to get funding to pay for someone else to do the editing, sadly that fell through while I was away, so the footage has been languishing on my computer for far too long as too much of the paying type of writing and photography work is making it hard to find enough time to edit it properly!
In the meantime, here’s a very short (and pretty rough cut) preview. It’s missing a lot of the journey, but shows a flavour of what we experienced.
Do we make it all the way across?
That you will have to wait for the finished version to see, although I guess it’s clear that at least one of us returned safely!
