OPOTY shortlisted in world wildlife category!

The heart shaped moulting pattern is entirely normal, if unexpected (Chiz Dakin)Just a quick blog post this morning. But while I was up in the hills last week I got an email saying that one (or more!) of my images entered in the world wildlife category of the Outdoor Photographer of the Year Awards (run by Outdoor Photography Magazine here in the UK) has made the shortlist! And I’ll hear fairly soon if it makes it through to being a finalist.

Really chuffed with that, as they must receive thousands or even tens of thousands of images for each category, so to even make a shortlist is really good going! And when they say it’s been an exceptionally high quality set of entries this year it’s even more pleasing 🙂 Fingers crossed now it can make it further! (And I’m on tenterhooks as to which one or ones it is – I entered six in the end!

(My money’s on just one image having been shortlisted – and I’d guess at the penguin with a heart-shaped moulting pattern, but we’ll have to wait and see – I could be completely wrong there!)
