Questions about weather on Stewart Island are a little bit different to most places. It’s not so much a question of “what will the weather do?” so much as “Will there be a break in the rain today?” or if by rare chance it’s not actually raining yet, “When do you think the rain will [...] How many times have you been holed up in a tent, snuggled up in your sleeping bag for warmth as it’s biting cold outside – and even inside the tent. But all the time wishing you could read a book, cook some dinner, make a tea, or even go and visit your mate in the [...] The highlight of the trip was 5 days walking “Los Tres Miles” with Mike from Spanish Highs. We set off from Lanjaron in the SE of the region, and walked across several of the 3000m peaks (they have so many that some don’t even have names!). The route roughly followed the main ridge line El [...] And it was wonderful! |
