Adventures of the Red Jacket

Having heard many tales of how wonderful Páramo gear is,and been impressed with their Cascada trousers,I acquired a red Aspira Jacket earlier this year. This page is dedicated to its adventures as it helps keep me a comfortable temperature and dry during my photography and guidebook/travel writing.

Sierra Nevada

“Reddi”the Red Jacket’s gettting excited again –he’s soon going to be exploring the Los Tres Miles (the 3000m peaks) of the Sierra Nevada in Spain. It will be an interesting challenge for him –this is the first true backpacking he’s done,and I’ve very little room in my rucksac for additional clothes when the photography,camping and cooking gear is accounted for. So he’s got to keep me warm if it snows,yet pack down small enough to fit in my rucksac on the lower hills where the temperatures could be 40+C,and cope with everything else in between! It’s a tall order,we’ll be reporting back how he gets on when we’re back later next month.
